Blogging again?

I can't believe how long its been since i have blogged. I think I am going to try to post from time to time even if I am the only one who looks at it

Family pictures were taking in Nov '12 for our Christmas card.
I love looking back at family pictures because of the memories it brings up.

Lucy was sick with 105 temp
Weston was sleep deprived and NOT happy
Everett was bribed with whatever he wanted
Chris was forced but was a good sport
I was stressed to the max

was it worth it? YES always worth it.
I love looking back at family photos.
It amazes me that we have gone from single to married to 1 kid to now 4.

I sure love my family.

The babes

Chris emailed me this picture the other day and I just love it!
I love our babies! I love that Weston loves her.
He is always soft with her and loves to hold her.
When she is asleep he wants to go check on her and says, "lucy sleep"
I wasn't ready to give up baby status with Weston when Lucy was born. To my surprise we didn't have to.
I just love our babes!

two

Weston is now 2!
Its hard for me to write about Weston without getting emotional. Its been a very emotional 2 years, yet its been the best two years! I have grown up so much! I feel like with Westy I truly became a Mom. I have never prayed so much, cried so hard and loved so unconditionally!
When Weston was 4 months old he started to hold his breath and pass out. By 6 months old he started to have seizures. By 8 months old he was passing out 6 times a day and having 1 major seizure a day. Everyday was such a battle. We could deal with the passing out and seizures, but dealing with the aftermath of those things was much much worse. He would cry and cry and cry and we just didn't know what to do to help him. The first 18 months of his life I was only able to leave him with 3 people (my Mom, Chris and a dear friend) I had people outright tell me they were uncomfortable watching him and I totally understood why. He would pass out in the bath tub, while eating his food, sitting in the grocery cart, and while playing outside. I couldn't leave him at the gym or babysitting co-op. You could never take your eyes off of him. It was hard on all of us!
We spent many hours/days at Dr's appt. we got 1st, 2nd and 3rd opinions. We switched his diet, tried medications, and avoided every kind of situation that could cause an episode.
In April while on the river for a family vacation I was holding Weston after one of his episodes and I had this crazy feeling come over me that I needed to stop working. I needed to put him and my other kids first. It was hard decision because i didn't work all that much, but life was stressful. I was always on the move and never relaxed. By June I was done working and by Aug his episodes became less and less.
Although we still see them from time to time they are becoming fewer and farther between.
The Dr's tell me he is completely normal and they believe it will be something he grows out of. They did warn us that with the new baby we might see a spark in episodes, but i think that is something we can deal with now.
NOW...
Weston is two! He is so full of life and he is such a HAPPY kid. His joker laugh gets everyone going and his smile is infectious.
He can drive a 4 wheeler like I have never seen, he gives loves better then any person I know. He loves me best!
There is never a dull moment with Weston

I am thankful for to Weston for making me a better Mom and wife. I think before I put everyone else first, even before my family. I said yes to everything and spread myself way too thin. Family is what is most important!

Love you Westy!

PS Wes is off the charts for his height and in 75th% for his weight. He is catching up to Everett very quickly!

18 Months

Westy boy is 18 months!
That means NURSERY! I haven't had a break in church for 2 1/2 years. He is loving it! And So am I!!
Weston is such a joy! We love him so much!
He still has breath holding spells almost daily and seizures about once a week, BUT they don't seem to have any effect on his development.
The Dr's are always wanting to do more test on him because apparently is not normal to have seizures with breath-holding spells.
Thank goodness we have the Internet. I have done lots of research and have come across some studies and other people who have kids suffering from the same thing.
In my heart i truly believe he will grow out of these.
This has been so hard- the hardest thing I have ever gone through in my life. Not only does he pass out and have seizures but when he does have an episode, it sends him into crying fits that can last hours sometimes. It can really make you feel helpless as a parent. Its also has been a HUGE lesson on patience. It has made me slow down and put him first. I have held him, loved him and kissed him more. I rock him and sing to him and we always say little prayers together.
This has been a trial, but I can honestly say it been a good trial for me. I have grown up so much and my faith has become so much stronger.
In some ways he has been the hardest of the 3 kids, but in other ways he has been the easiest. When he is happy he is so happy! He is my best eater and best sleeper. And he is talking up a storm.
I just love our chunky Westy!

Grandpa Lovin

My kids are beyond blessed.
They get to see Grandpa work firsthand everyday. they get to watch him team rope while eating breakfast (grandpa is a very early riser) They LOVE grandpa and Grandpa LOVES them.
They sit on the fence just waiting for him to come take them on a horse ride, tractor ride, or 4 wheeler ride. They don't care they just want to be with grandpa.

He is officially all over the place.
Weston continues to pass out and still has occasional seizures (not fun)
He is still right on track so we are focusing on the positive.

Home on the Range

Its funny how life works out sometimes. One minute we have no plans of moving to the farm, and then the next minute we are moving to the farm! 3 years ago my dad took me to look at the farm house. I loved it, but it needed some work. 7 months ago my brothers family moved into the farm house temporally and did a TON of work on it! It looked like a different house on the inside and they made the house look so charming!

Living at the farm has been so fun for us. The kids love it! I feel like I can breath. We have no idea how long we will be here(we hope for a long time), but for now we are enjoying it immensely.

We miss my brother and his family though-why does everyone keep moving from us?? sniff sniff!

Birthday Boy!!

Our sweet sweet Westy turned 1 Oct 29th (i am way behind)
We love this kid to pieces!!
He is close to walking
He loves to talk (uh oh!, mama, dada, more)
He loves food!
He is off the chart for his height and weighs the same as his big brother
His pass out spells are about once to twice a week (a lot better then 6x a day)
He hasn't had a seizure for a month and a half (longest he has gone)
he is off all medication and doing awesome
he is a charmer!
he is FAST!!
He really likes cars! he likes trains too but Everett won't let him near them so.... cars it is!
He loves me most!
When I lay down at night after a rough day. I sometimes picture Weston (and the other kids) laughing and it just makes all the hard work worth it! We didn't choose to have Weston when he came, but I am so glad he joined our family when he did. This has been the hardest yet BEST year of my life. I get to be a mom to the best little people I know.
I call this year my grow up year, and I have Weston to thank for that.
Love you little/BiG guy!

Why I love him...

Here are just a few reasons why i love this kid
-He is my little buddy-where I go he goes!
-He eats my food. Sometimes I feel like dinner is a waste because my other two kids eat like birds. Not Westy! This kid can EAT!
-He loves me best!
-His eyes tell me everything I need to know.
-He loves my singing voice
-He just gets things (hard to explain, but his little brain is for sure working in there)
-He lets me kiss him as much as I want
-He can hold his own
-He loves his Binky and I LOVE that he loves it!!!
-He is a sweet heart.
I could go on and on...

10 months

Oh this boy!!
We love every inch of him!
He is now 10 months old.
full of teeth-crawling up the stairs-walking along furniture-talking, "uh oh, daddy, momma", eating more then his siblings combined, and 21lbs.
Weston is still having some issues, but developing right on track (or a little ahead from what his Dr said)
I sent my Mom a text saying "I don't know how much more I can mentally handle" her reply, "you don't have a choice"!
From that moment on i have decided we are going to keep on keepin on.
We love our Westy boy!
