We sure have been having fun, and working hard

Here are a few pictures of some things we have been up to.

The boys playing on the roof- we have a balcony on the top of the house that the kids love. I would not allow them to go up there until all the drywall etc.. was fixed and I knew that the kids were safe. Well, its fixed and the kids love it! Great views too!

My Dad installed some more horse corrals towards the back of the farm. My brother Tom and his kids helped my Dad a lot with this and Chris has spent a couple days there as well. Chris and my Dad just installed the roof for it. The kids are excited for when its filled with more horses.

We still do our date night trade with our good friends. I love it! The kids love it, too. This weekend was our turn and we took the kids on a farm adventure where we saw a bird nest with eggs (see below), we let them sit on the back hatch of the truck and go for rides, climb the hills, play with the goats and the chickens, and ride the 4 wheelers. It was fun!

Its never too early right?? I got a flat tire on the way to swim lessons. Chris saved the day and came to our rescue. Weston was a good helper.

Aren't these so cool! My SIL, Chelsea found these eggs in the wide open road on the farm. Now my kids and I go check on them every day. The roadrunner bird sure keeps his eye on us though.

A couple more Kids

Our goats, Jack and Jill had their babies.

Seeing as we have never done this before I used google to get us through. They were born during one of our random rain storms.

Google and Chris got them through a hard night. He built the a shelter and we used a heat lamp.

They survived and are so cute!

They way the bounce about is pretty darn funny.

London named them of course (she was sad to find out they were both boys)

She named them Boy-ya and Jack Jr.

They kids love them!

Farmers tan

Is it any surprise that the boys already have a farmers tan?!?

Grandpa Lovin

My kids are beyond blessed.

They get to see Grandpa work firsthand everyday. they get to watch him team rope while eating breakfast (grandpa is a very early riser) They LOVE grandpa and Grandpa LOVES them.

They sit on the fence just waiting for him to come take them on a horse ride, tractor ride, or 4 wheeler ride. They don't care they just want to be with grandpa.

Pink Sky

Arizona has the BEST sunsets. Everett calls them the pink sky. Being at the farm sunsets seem so much better for some reason. Maybe we just have a better view?!?

Horses and cousins

Oh my goodness we sure had a good time with my sister in town. I love her kids! Her kids love my kids and that makes me so happy! London was in heaven. Cousin sleepovers might be her favorite thing. They are all older then her, but still so good to her.

Ps-London says she wants to be a cowgirl now and Everett just asked for boots like Grandpa's.

Judge Not

What has my life become?

Our hands are raw from washing them so much! I have gone through more hand sanitizer the past 2 months then I have the past two years. We average 3 sets a clothes per kid/per day. We bathe once a day if not more.

Its worth it though. Our kids are thriving.

We are simplifying and it feels good.

I am 1 1/2 miles from Target and Hobby Lobby yet I feel like we are in our own little world.

Chris reminded me of a time back before we had any kids. We were visiting some river friends of his. As we were chatting it up with this couple their kids walked in holding chickens. I was so grossed out! As we were driving away I told Chris I would never ever let our kids walk around holding chickens. Now I look back at that moment and i feel awful. Those were some of the happiest kids I had ever seen. As i get older I have become a lot less judgemental that's for sure!

Happiness is in the soul of the beholder :)

Pure Joy

I hear when children are around animals it brings peace into their lives.

I also believe animals bring happiness and PURE JOY!

ps Everett melts me in every way possible!

Pepper, Salty, and Grass

Today we got a drop off of three baby chickens. The kids are in heaven!!

London already named them, Pepper, Salty and Grass!

London: "mom the chickens don't have a mom so I am going to be their mom and take care of them"

Me "sounds awesome London...will you feed them and everything?"

London: "yes...and I already put them in "time out" for scratching me"

Unlike his previous owners we keep him outside (The dog was a big enough step for me)

we have a pig pen on the side of our house and he sleeps there-in a dog house :)

Home on the Range

Its funny how life works out sometimes. One minute we have no plans of moving to the farm, and then the next minute we are moving to the farm! 3 years ago my dad took me to look at the farm house. I loved it, but it needed some work. 7 months ago my brothers family moved into the farm house temporally and did a TON of work on it! It looked like a different house on the inside and they made the house look so charming!

Living at the farm has been so fun for us. The kids love it! I feel like I can breath. We have no idea how long we will be here(we hope for a long time), but for now we are enjoying it immensely.

We miss my brother and his family though-why does everyone keep moving from us?? sniff sniff!

New Year/New Beginnings

We started the new years out with a bang!

I have a really good feeling this is going to be a really good year!

Happy New Year!

We are had a wonderful time celebrating with our family from Cali

(Dave, Annie, Doug and cousins) plus the AZ cousins.

It was fun to have them come visit the farm-I am still laughing over the plastic covers they wore on their shoes (granted it had rained that whole weekend-still funny)

Changes are a comin

We sure have A LOT of changes going on right now.

Moving. New business adventures.Christmas. Farm life!

The next month will be exciting, hopefully I will have time to post from time to time.
