Valentine's Day

I think everyone knows valentine's day is one of my favorites! Here are a few pictures. The 52 things I love about you turned out to be a big hit with Chris. It melted my heart when I got in his car and saw it hanging on his mirror. Im glad he likes some of the things I do :)

How we love-Dinner for two

This year for Valentine's Day I wanted to stay home, but take the kids to the babysitter.

I feel like I never get to enjoy dinner at home with my main squeeze.

One of us is always helping/holding a child and many times our food goes cold before we actually get to eat it. This year I wanted us both to enjoy a meal in our own home.

On the menu:

Milanesa with fresh lemon

Mashed Potatoes

Fresh fruit

Caesar salad

cake log (which I didn't indulge in)

I also made dinner for my parents for Valentine's Day. I let them enjoy it their own home too :)

"dinner in a basket"

If your main squeeze likes meat you should try Milanesa. Its been a family favorite since i was a little girl. I have been in several of my siblings home when they have made it, too.

Chris loves it and feels like its a treat when we have it.

Milanesa

-VERY thin Top Round beef

soak in eggs and fresh garlic for at least 4 hours put in fridge (see picture)

I sometimes soak overnight.

Bread meat with plain bread crumbs

Fry in oil until golden brown

slice fresh lemon (one to two slices for each plate)

squeeze lemon on milanesa.

Its yummy!

Much yummier then the picture looks I promise.

I think we both loved our date night in!

How we love

I LoVe Valentine's Day!

I think the kids love it too. The past couple years I have done a daily mailbox 1 week prior to the big day! Its not much. Maybe a candy, a sweet note or a small toy. They know its from me and they love it! I think Chris likes it as well-i get his favorites!

(I got the mailboxes at Target in the dollar bin-made them fancy with vinyl-thanks Sarah)

London was so excited to give her teachers and her class valentine's.

Target had these adorable teacher cups. Super cheap, yet thoughtful!

I made London's Valentines cards this year. It was actually cheaper then buying the wal-mart ones. She was beyond excited!

I heart you! (day45)

making "pinkalicious" treats for my family
YUMMY!
Love mail!
And...don't you just love my new/old cake plate?? Chris doesn't understand my love for old (aka antiques) things, but still humors me and surprises me with some of the best!
I love it!
Look who is becoming more of himself! We still have a way to go, but on our way!

Mr Retty boy enjoying his v-day treats

Guess what I got the kids for Valentine's day??

Yep! A pig!

Not just any pig the runt of the litter (do they call pigs a litter??)

let me explain- A couple days ago when we were at the dairy farm everyone kept saying, "No one wants the runt" and "don't pick the runt" They weren't being very nice about the cutest one of them all. So, I asked the Foreman at the dairy how much does she/he cost? he said, 'why do you want him?" I replied with, "maybe". Then he said, "he's yours!"

What!! What on earth are we going to do with a pet pig (I won't let me dad kill this one)

My kids are so excited! Good thing Grandpa Lamb will let us keep him at his farm.

I think we will call him...

Runt!

And we will do it with much love!

Be Mine (Day 42)

Today London made Valentine's (lets hope we get them delivered before Valentine's day)

My sister, Sarah made this cute skirt for London. She was so excited to wear it to a Valentine's Day party she was invited to.
Thank you Sarah! We love it!

I heart you!

( For Grandma Marilyn and Grandma Susan)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Love, Everett

Today was a cute day!

When I got home from my morning run this is what the table looked like. The night before i "tried" to make London a HUGE cupcake but it did not turn out so well, I gave up and went to bed. Luckily my heart shape cake for Chris did. Anyway, while out running Chris did his best to salvage the cupcake because he knew how much London would love it. She loves cupcakes!!! This was all him. I almost cried when i saw he got her flowers- HE IS THE BEST DAD!! He also did a super nice thing for me (that will be a whole other post someday-for now its all mine) I have no idea what i would do without my 3 valentine's! I am so lucky!!

So guess what I got to do for the first time in 8 years?

This...

and this!

Today was the best day because i got to be with my family. Being a hair stylist you work Saturdays, that's just understood....you work! Well, lucky for me I now have the day off. (we have found someone to watch the kids one day during the week so we can spend our Saturdays together as a family) I think I am going to love this!
(the top picture are my boys taking a little nap-the 2nd one is London "paintin" she is our little artist and i am pretty sure she would paint all day if i let her)
I now HEART Saturday's!

Valentines Day

Valentines Day was sooooo much fun! We got Rachel and London matching v-day outfits for the day and Suzanne got them cute pj’s for the night. They looked so cute! We made cookies and waiting for the kids to get home from school to see what surprise there Mom and Dad had left them. It was a HUGE surprise that there were things in there for us as well. Suzanne spoiled London like crazy and of course she did way too much for me. It was fun seeing those kids rip open that box and then be so excited by what was left. Suzanne did a great job! Chris also came in that night so it made it an extra social v-day!
